On Thursday the 23rd of June, Harrison Reid and Charles Roberts took me out of their studies to a end a Step Back Think event at Carlton Primary School for the “Team Lace Up Against Social Violence Campaign 2016”
Team Lace Up is a month long campaign that raises awareness of the causes and consequences of social violence, culmina ng in Lace Up Week (June 20 – 26) where elite and community sports clubs will show their commitment to ending social violence by wearing orange laces during play.
Talent Manager Rhy Gieschen is really proud of what the boys are doing.
“We have been really strong on our players engaging with the local community. It is great for our players to support causes such Step Back Think at every opportunity – par cularly a er the tragic passing of Lower Plenty FC Footballer Patrick Cronin earlier this year.”
“It’s a credit to both Chas and Harro that as soon as I asked them they jumped at the opportunity to support the Step Back Think cause. The U18 players will all wear the Orange Laces as a small show of support for the cause this week.”
Its great to see these boys not just developing as athletes but as people as well.
